RED OGNITA
For ReD Ognita, images are echoes that emanate from the artist’s personality. In his own words,
“The manner in which we choose or create our images reflects the way we approach the world or how we would like to see it.”Accordingly, his black-and-white fine art photographs deliberately deviate from the typical formulaic landscape representations. Instead, they are harnessed and formed based on the artist’s frame of mind, which arises from his interaction with the environment.
Frequently utilizing long exposure as a photographic technique to reveal minimalist landscapes rendered in black-and-white, ReD’s photography is distinct in its contemplative stance that invites the viewer into a visual exploration that is beyond the ordinary.
Meticulous attention is likewise granted by ReD in creating his fine art prints, where every detail, contour, tone, or texture is an integral component of his personal interpretations as an artist. Since picking up the camera in late 2006, ReD has continuously explored different landscapes in his home country and within foreign territories in Asia, as part of his artistic pursuit.
A multi-awarded photographer whose works have been published in numerous prestigious international publications, ReD has participated in different exhibitions in Macau, Beijing, and Manila where he currently lives and works.
